A much anticipated event of each Annual Banquet is the announcement of the Alamance Women’s Community, Inc. Woman of the Year. Only past Women of the Year may serve on the committee to select the new recipient.
This year’s recipient is Patty Allen. A member of AWC, Inc. for five years she has been helpful to the organization during its name change and transition. Patty is currently as Recording Secretary and participates in nearly every AWC, Inc. activity and hosts many member socials at her home. Also engaged in the success of the club are her husband, Mike, and five children Reade, Kelly Mae, Rebekah Anne, Sawyer, and Laura Lea whose homeschooling lends them to volunteer work throughout the AWC, Inc. year. Patty attributes her own successes to her family’s success.
A homemaker, Patty also homeschools her children, runs a small business, and is growing a farm that includes a variety of chickens, guinea fowl, horses, cats, and dogs. When relaxing she enjoys knitting, crocheting, sewing, and reading.
Thank you, Patty, for your service to Alamance Women’s Community, Inc. and to Alamance County.
