The ladies of Alamance Women’s Community, Inc. gathered together for a St. Patrick’s Social and it became an afternoon of laughing, crafting, and all over joy! It was a gorgeous day that allowed for windows to let in fresh air and the hint of Spring to fill all of us.
We may have bad weather in Ireland, but the sun shines in the hearts of the people and that keeps us all warm. ~Marianne Williamson
Coordinated by Socials Committee Chairwoman Pauline, we enjoyed a tremendous meal with the traditional foods including corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and soda bread and, of course, ample Southern sides like beans, pies, and jalapeño poppers. Gathered around two tables we talked about or lives in the moment, in the past, and what we see for our futures.
May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light, may good luck pursue you each morning and night. ~Irish Blessing
As the munching and tasting and trying all the good foods waned, Special Projects Committee member Tricia brought out the supplies for us to help the committee in decorations for the upcoming fundraiser – Taste of Spring.
St. Patrick’s Day is an enchanted time—a day to begin transforming winter’s dreams into summer’s magic. ~Adrienne Cook
In the end we had created many beautiful tissue paper flowers and grown closer as a community of women. We are grateful.
May your troubles be less. And your blessings be more. And nothing but happiness come through your door.
~Irish Blessing
